HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - 23-P - 10-21-1981 - PRISON BOARDMINUTE BOOK PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Minute No. 23-P Washington County Prison Board Washington, Pa., October 21, 1981 The monthly meeting of the Prison Board of the County of Washington met in the Commis- sioners' Conference Room, Courthouse Square, Washington, Pennsylvania, at approximately 11:30 a.m with the following members being present: Commissioners Gilmore and Paluso, District Attorney t Bigi, Deputy Controller Humble and Sheriff Fazzoni. Absent being: Judge Sweet and Commissioner Mascara, who was in the hospital. Also being present: Warden Oleski, Chief Clerk Dallatore, 'Administrative Assistant Davis and Betty Robinson and Selma Tansey of the MH Clinic. Chairman Fazzoni explained that the reason the meeting was postponed a week was because a few of the members had been out of town. Deputy Controller Humble presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the; bills for the month of September, 1981. Moved by Mr. Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Bigi, approving the payment of bills for the month of September. Motion carried unanimously by vote cast by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". Chairman Fazzoni introduced to the Board Betty Robinson and Selma Tansey of the MH Clinic. Mrs. Robinson then briefed the Board on the amount of time being spent by the MH Clinic in evaluating the prisoners from the County Jail due to the absence of a counselor at the Jail. Mrs. Robinson recommended that the Board seriously consider hiring a full-time caseworker at the Jail. Discussion followed. Warden Oleski added that the recent annual Inspection Evaluation Report from the Pennsylvania Bureau of Correction has cited the Jail for lack of treatment per- sonnel on staff. Commissioner Gilmore advised Warden Oleski to include said request in his 1982 budget. Warden Oleski reported that the steps in the Jail had been fixed and the windows are now' in the process of being repaired. Meeting adjourned at approximately 12:00 Noon.
