HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - 1-P-85 - 1-16-1985 - PRISON BOARDR-1 MINUTE B❑❑ K PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA 1-P-85 Washington County Prison Board i Washington, PA, January 16, 1985 The Annual Reorganization and monthly meeting of the Washington County Prison Board met in the Commissioners' Conference Room at approximately 11:40 a.1n. with the following members being present: Commissioners Mascara, Petrosky and Paluso, Controller Beharry, Sheriff Fazzoni and District Attorney Pettit. Ab- sent being:, Judge Gilmore. Also being present: Linda Hands, Clerk -Steno II Observer - and Warden Poland; Natalie Moore, Herald -Standard and Barbar Miller, Reporter. Presiding Chairman Mais-car-a-calle'd the meeting to order. REORGANIZATION: Presiding Chairman Mascara stated that at this time the Board would take nominations for Chairman, Vice -Chairman and Secretary for the year 1985. Nomin- ations were opened by Presiding Chairman Mascara. Mr. Fazzoni moved to appoint Mr. Pettit as Chairman of the Prison Board for 1985. Said motion was seconded by Mr. Petrosky. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mascara - Yes; Mr. Petrosky Yes; Mr. Fazzoni - Yes; Mr, Pettit - Yes; Miss Beharry - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Moved by Mr. Petrosky, seconded by Miss Beharry, to appoint Mr. Fazzoni as Vice -Chairman of the Prison Board for 1985. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mascara - Yes; Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Fazzoni - Yes; Mr. Pettit - Yes; Miss Beharry - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. (Mr. Paluso entered the meeting) Moved by Mr. Petrosky, seconded by Mr. Fazzoni, to appoint Miss Beharry as Secretary of the Prison Board for 1985. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Mascara - Yes; Mr. Petrosky - Yes; Mr. Paluso - Yes; Mr. Fazzoni - Yes; Mr. Pettit - Yes; Miss Beharry - Yes. TZotion carried unanimously. Immigration 176.75 TOTAL $13,479.50 Total Work Release and Weekender's Room and Board for December, 1984: Weekenders were billed $ 630.00 Received $400.0,0 Work Release were billed $ 590.00 Received $390.00 TOTAL 1,220.00 790.00 Inmates seeing the doctor for December, 1984: Males 74 Females 13 (5 women having been seen twice) Population breakdown: MALES FEMALES TOTALS Sentenced prisoners 36 6 42 Unsentenced prisoners 53 4 57 Federal Holdovers 10 0 10 Greene County 1 0 1 Westmoreland County 1 0 1 TOTALS 101 10 111 Work Release 11 BILLS: Controller Beharry presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the month of December, 1984, in the amount of $21,978.69. Miss ' Beharry noted that there are some bids included in the total amount of bills. A brief discussion was held on the bills. Moved by Mr. Fazzoni, seconded by Mr. Petrosky, approving the payment of the bills in the amount of $21,978.69. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signfying their approval by stating it Aye'I OUTSTANDING REIMBURSEMENTS Reimbursable December Medical Payment $ 619.05 Adj. Motion carried unani- mously by the Board signfying their approval by stating "Aye".
