Sheriff Fazzoni informed the Board of action taken by him as a result of
Judge Bell's Order dated May 6, 1985 directing that the Sheriff of Washington 1
County provide round-the-clock supervision of John Doe, a/k/a Johnny Davis (a/k/4
Darwin Barnes), who was confined in the Allegheny General Hospital as a result j
of being shot in a hold-up. He stated that he asked the Allegheny County Sheriff's
Department to provide the round-the-clock supervision at $50.00 per eight -hour
shift along with any expense and subsistence incurred by its department in per-
forming this duty at the Allegheny General Hospital. He explained that the rea-
sons he asked the Allegheny County Sheriff's Department to provide this service
were: (1) it would save Washington County approximately $170.00 per day; and
(2) his office is shorthanded since he has three deputies presently attending
training school. Some discussion followed. Moved by Mr. Paluso, seconded by
Mr. Mascara, to ratify the action of the Sheriff in having Allegheny County
Sheriff's Department guard the inmate in the Allegheny General Hospital as per
above for the length of time necessary. Motion carried unanimously by the Board
signifying their approval by stating "Aye".
