Miss Beharry questioned the procedure relative to weekenders and bench
warrants being issued. Mr. Pelzer explained that the policy during the past
several years has been to give the weekenders a week grace period if they fail to
show to serve their time. Discussion followed. The Board members noted that they
did not agree with this procedure and suggested that bench warrants be issued
immediately if the weekenders failed to show.
Sheriff Fazzoni advised the Board of recent incidents which have occurred
whereby his deputies have transported inmates here from various locations and it
ended up that the inmates were not needed by the Courts for some reason or another.
There being no further business, Chairman Petrosky declared the meeting
adjourned at approximately Noon.
NOTE: The Prison Board held an executive session to discuss further the request
of Warden Poland to return to work.
