at the Jail. The Board directed Acting Warden Pelzer to have Columbia Gas check
the meter. Commissioner Mascara suggested that the Jail get meter cards from
Columbia Gas and read our own meters.
Sheriff Fazzoni brought up the matter of proposed legislation whereby
medical cards would not be taken off of prisoners upon their admittance to the
Jail. Commissioner Mascara noted that he has discussed this matter at PSACC
meetings.
Miss Beharry questioned Commissioner Petrosky on the In -House Incarceration
Program and the information that he had forwarded to her relative to the PCCD
Grant. Commissioner Petrosky explained the increased costs of the proposed grant
program. He noted that the Commissioners met with a representative of the Penn-
sylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and that it was their feeling that
the cost was too much for the County to handle at this time. Discussion followed.
It was noted that the County could reapply at some later date for monies for
alternative housing programs to help alleviate overcrowding in the jail.
There being no further business, Secretary Mascara declared the meeting
