HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - 11-P-90 - 11-21-1990 - PRISON BOARD374 MINUTE BOOK PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Minute No. 11-P-90 Washington County Prison Board Washington, Pa., November 21, 1990 The Washington County Prison Board met for its monthly meeting in the 7th Floor Conference Room, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Mascara and Petrosky; Controller Belcastro; Chief Deputy Sheriff Littleton and District Attorney Pettit. Absent being: Judge Gilmore and Commissioner Paluso. Also being present: Warden Pelzer; Linda Hands, Clerk -Steno II; and Jim Jefferson, WJPA. Chairman Mascara called the meeting to order at approximately 11:35 a.m. Approval of Minutes: Chairman Mascara asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 10-P-90, each member having received a copy. Moved by Mr. Littleton, seconded by Mr. Belcastro, that Minute No. 10-P-90 be approved as written. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". Warden's Report: Warden Pelzer presented to the Board the following information: Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for October: No monies were received. Total Work Release and Weekenders: Weekenders billed $1,320.00 Received $1,721.00 Work Release billed $2,010.00 $2,595.00 TOTAL $3,330.00 $4,316.00 $155.00 was turned over to the Clerk of Courts for collection. Status of prisoners confined at the end of October, 1990: MALES FEMALES TOTAL Sentenced prisoners 32 4 36 Weekend prisoners 36 5 41 Work Release 28 0 28 Home Detention Program 2 1 3 Unsentenced prisoners Awaiting trial 51 5 56 Awaiting sentencing 13 0 13 TOTAL PRISONERS 156 15 177 No. of inmates doctor saw 99 21 120 New commitments doctor saw 60 Repeat patients doctor saw 60 Sheriff transported 16 inmates Commissioner Mascara questioned Warden Pelzer on how many prisoners could be transferred if we had the minimum security facility across the street. Warden Pelzer stated that they could probably transfer at least 69 right off the top with work release and weekenders. A brief discussion followed. 3715 MINUTE B❑❑K PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Moved by Mr. Belcastro, seconded by Mr. Petrosky, to approve the Warden's Report. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". Bills: Controller Belcastro presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the month of October in the amount of $29,597.17. Moved by Mr. Littleton, seconded by Mr. Belcastro, approving the bills for the month of October as per above. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".
