HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - 5-P-92 - 5-13-1992 - PRISON BOARDWashington County Prison Board Washington, Pa., May 13, 1992 The monthly meeting of the Washington County Prison Board was held in the 7th Floor Conference Room, Courthouse Square Office Building, Washington, i Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Mascara, Petrosky and Ford; Controller Belcastro; and District Attorney Pettit. Absent being; Judge Gilmore and Sheriff Fazzoni. Also being present: Warden Pelzer; Linda Hands, Clerk -Steno II; Jim Jefferson, WJPA; and Kathy Warco, Observer - Reporter. Chairman Mascara called the meeting to order at approximately 11:40 a.m. and asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 4-P-92, each member having received a copy. Moved by Mr. Belcastro, seconded by Mr. Ford, that Minute No. 4-P-92 be approved as written. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". Warden's Report: Warden Pelzer presented to the Board the following information: Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for April: None Total Work Release and Weekenders: Work Release were billed Weekenders were billed Amount received $3,450.00 $2,560.00 $4,818.00 No monies were turned over to the Clerk of Courts for collection. Status of prisoners confined at the end of April, 1992: MALES FEMALES TOTAL Full -Time prisoners 61 1 62 Weekend prisoners 27 5 32 Work Release 28 1 29 Home Detention Program 14 1 is Unsentenced prisoners Awaiting sentencing Awaiting trial TOTAL PRISONERS No. of inmates doctor saw New commitments doctor saw Repeat patients doctor saw Sheriff transported 29 inmates 8 2 10 59 3 62 197 13 210 128 7 135 70 65 Moved by Mr. Ford, seconded by Mr. Petrosky, to accept the Warden's Report as per above. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their It approval by stating "Aye . Moved by Mr. Petrosky, seconded Mr. Ford, approving the payment of the bills for the month of April as per above. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating Aye (See list of bills attached hereto and made a part hereof.) Old Business: Warden Pelzer reported to the Board that with reference to the executive session held last month concerning a personnel matter, the Correctional Officer (C. Loughman) has resigned from his position at the Jail. Warden Pelzer also reported that they have received the bunks to begin the double -bunking project this week at the jail.
