Commissioner Ford noted that he has been receiving complaints about
the prisoners yelling out from the jail windows to the populace on the street,
particularly to women. He questioned if there was anything that could be done
about this problem. Discussion followed. Warden Pelzer noted that this has
been an ongoing problem for years and that he has boarded some of the windows.
The Board requested the Warden to do whatever he can to stay on top of this
situation and do his best to eliminate the problem as much as possible.
Bills:
Controller Belcastro presented to the Board for their consideration
and approval the bills for the month of July in the amount of $35,422.11.
Sheriff Fazzoni questioned the Board as to whether or not the County would be
able to contract with Ambulance and Chair Service on a yearly basis to try to
get a better rate. Warden Pelzer noted that he and Lou Lignelli have
contacted Billie Jo Morris (the owner) several times which have been fruitless.
Discussion followed. Warden Pelzer and Sheriff Fazzoni noted that there are no
alternate ambulance services available.
Moved by Fazzoni, seconded Mr. Ford, approving the payment of the
bills for the month of July as per above. Motion carried unanimously by the
Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached
hereto and made a part hereof.)
