HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - 11-P-93 - 10-20-1993 - PRISON BOARDMINUTE B O'O K PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA 45 6 Minute No. 11-P-93 Washington County Prison Board Washington, Pa., October 20, 1993 The monthly meeting of the Washington County Prison Board was held in the 7th Floor conference Room, Courthouse Square, Washington, Pa., with the following members being present: Commissioners Mascara, Petrosky and Ford; Controller Belcastro; Sheriff Fazzoni and District Attorney Pettit. Absent being: Judge Gilmore. Also being present: Warden Pelzer; Chief Deputy Sheriff Thomas Bellhy; Linda Hands, Clerk Steno II; Jim Jefferson, WJPA; and Linda Ritzer, Observer -Reporter. Vice -Chairman Petrosky called the meeting to order at approximately 11:35 a.m. Approval of Minutes: Moved by Mr. Mascara, seconded by Mr. Fazzoni, that Minute No. 10-P-93 be approved as written. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating 'Aye". Warden's Report: Warden Pelzer presented to the Board the following information: Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for September: -0- was billed Total Work Release and Weekenders: Work Release were billed $3,000.00 Weekenders were billed $2,500.00 Amount received $4,908.00 $80.00 was turned over to the Clerk of Courts for collection. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating 'Aye". Bills: Controller Belcastro presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the month of September, 1993, in the amount of $29,494.94. 457 1993, as per above. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached thereto and made a part hereof.) Old Business• Commissioner Mascara reported to the Board that the County received a check from the State in the amount of $22,776.63 for the reimbursement of the cost for emergency surgery for George Balboa, a prisoner serving a State sentence who was temporarily in the custody of Washington County to testify as a prosecution witenss in a murder trial. Mr. Mascara noted, however, the state did not reimburse the County for security services which amounted to approximately $7,000.
