507 Minute No. 8-P-95 B©0K WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Washington County Prison Board Washington, Pa., August 23, 1995 The monthly meeting of the Washington County Prison Board was held in the 7th Floor Conference Room, Courthouse Square, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Petrosky and Ford; Controller Belcastro; and Sheriff Secreet. Absent being: Judge Gilmore; Commissioner Bassi and District Attorney Pettit. Also being present: Warden Pelzer; Wayne Fleming, Executive Director of the Washington County Authority; Linda Hands, Clerk -Steno II; Jim Jefferson, WJPA; and Jon Stevens, Observer -Reporter. Chairman Petrosky called the meeting to order at approximately 11:35 a.m. and asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 7-P-95, each member having received a copy. Moved by Mr. Belcastro, seconded by Mr. Secreet, that Minute No. 7-P-95 be approved as written. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". Bills: Controller Belcastro presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the month of July, 1995, in the amount of $63,344.37. Moved by Mr. Belcastro, seconded by Mr. Secreet, approving the bills for the month of July as per above. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and made a part hereof.) Warden's Report:: Warden Pelzer presented to the Board the following information: Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for Tulv,1995: $446.25 Total Work Release and Weekenders: Work Release were billed $5,010.00 Weekenders were billed $2,080.00 Amount received $9,055.00 Amount received year-to-date $54,130.00 No monies were turned over to the Clerk of Courts for Collection. Status of prisoners confined at the end of Tuly, 1995: MALES FEMALES TOTAL Sentenced prisoners 56 7 63 Weekend prisoners 26 0 26 Work Release 25 0 25 Home Detention Program 24 1 25 Unsentenced prisoners Awaiting sentencing 15 3 18 Awaiting trial 58 2 60 TOTAL PRISONERS 204 13 217 No. of inmates doctor saw 166 27 193 New commitments doctor saw 52 Repeat patients doctor saw 141 MINUTE BOOK PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Sheriff transported 15 inmates With reference to the $54,130.00 collected, Chairman Petrosky questioned Warden Pelzer on how this amount compares to last year. Warden Pelzer stated that in the first eight months of this year, the jail has already exceeded what it collected during all of last year. Commissioner Ford questioned Mr. Fleming's presence at the Prison Board meeting. Mr. Fleming explained that he was in attendance in his capacity as Executive Director of the Washington County Authority in order to answer any questions that may arise relative to the construction status of the new justice center.
