Irey; J. Bracken Burns, Sr. and Scott E O c a H. Fergus; Deputy Controller Namie; District Attorney Pettit and Sheriff Larry Maggi. Absent being: Judge Gilmore. Also being present: Warden Pelzer; Bill McGowen, Director of Administration; Jim McCune; Solicitor; Jill Devine, L Assistant Solicitor; Michelle Miller, Chief Clerk; Gary Porter, summer intern; Joe Smydo, Observer -Reporter; and Kathy Thomas, Valley Independent. Chairman Irey called the meeting to order at approximately 11:45 a.m. asked if there were any corrections to Minute No. 5-P-98 each member having received a copy. Moved by Mr. Burns, seconded by Mr. Pettit, that Minute No. 5-P-98 be approved as written. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". WARDEN'S REPORT Warden Pelzer presented to the Board the following information: Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for May. 1998: Other Counties (Greene and Fayette) $ 5,480.00 U. S. Marshal $ 3,650.00 U. S. Immigration -0- Administrative Fee $ 566.93 Monthly Sub -Total 9,696.93 Year to date GRAND TOTAL $ 92,644.39 Pram Fees and Room. and Board T.n, come for the Month of May Billed Collected Work Release/Home Detention $12,411.59 $12,231.59 . Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". BILLS Deputy Controller Namie presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the month of May, 1998 in the amount of $55,020.53. Moved by Mr. Burns, seconded by Mr. Fergus, approving the bills for the month of May, 1998. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and made a part hereof.) An Executive Session was called to discuss personnel matters involving Officer Richard McFarland. (The Board returned to regular session.) Chairman Irey stated that the issue before the Board was consideration of disciplinary action for Correctional Officer Richard McFarland. Moved by Mr. Burns, seconded by Mr. Maggi, to terminate Mr. McFarland's employment with Washington County. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". Roll call vote taken: Mrs. Irey - Yes; Mr. Burns - Yes; Mr. Fergus - Yes; Mr. Maggi - Yes; Mr. NTarn o - Yes; Mr. Pettit - Yes. Motion carried unanimously. It was noted that this recommendation before the Board was submitted by the Solicitor's Office in conjunction with the Department of Human Resources.
