Bracken Burns, Sr. and Scott H. Fergus; Controller Belcastro; and Sheriff Larry Maggi. Absent being: Commissioner Irey; Judge Gilmore and District Attorney Pettit. Also being present: Warden Pelzer; Bill McGowen, Director of Administration; Jill Devine, Assistant Solicitor; Linda Belcher, Secretary; JoAnn Metz, Commissioner Irey's Office; Gary Porter, summer intern; Joe Smydo, Observer -Reporter; Jim Jefferson, WJPA and Kathy Thomas, Valley Independent. Vice -Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at approximately 11:35 a.m. and asked if there were any corrections to Minute No. 6-P-98 each member having received a copy. Moved by Mr. Belcastro, seconded by Mr. Fergus, that Minute No. 6-P-98 be approved as written. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". WARDEN'S REPORT Warden Pelzer presented to the Board the following information: Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for June. 1998: Other Counties (Greene and Navy) $ 5,580.00 U. S. Marshal $ 2,600.00 U. S. Immigration -0- Administrative Fee $ 2,024.06 Monthly Sub -Total 10,204.06 Year to date GRAND TOTAL $ 102,848.45 Program Fees and Room and Board Irlcnme for rh? Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". Mr. McGowan presented to the Prison Board a PCCD Grant Proposal for Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitative Services for Adult Female Offenders in the amount of $600K. He pointed out that there is no county match and that continuing funding should be available for at least two additional years. Mr. McGowan explained that the proposal was developed by Aspen Quality Care, Inc. and C.A.R.E. and shall provide drug and alcohol treatment services to an estimated 90-120 female offenders sentenced to county probation, parole and/or intermediate punishment in Washington and/or Greene Counties. Moved by Mr. Burns, seconded by Mr. Belcastro, to recommend to the Board of Commissioners the approval and acceptance of the PCCD Grant Proposal as per above at the next regular Commissioner's meeting. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". BILLS Controller Belcastro presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the month of June, 1998 in the amount of $56,507.81. Moved by Mr. Belcastro, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving the bills for the month of June, 1998. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and made a part hereof.)
