Minute No. 8-P-99
Washington County Prison Board
Washington, Pa., August 18,1999
The monthly meeting of the Washington County Prison Board was held in the 7th Floor Conference Room,
Courthouse Square, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners J. Bracken
Burns, Sr., Diana L. Irey and Scott Fergus; Judge Gilmore; Deputy Controller Namie and Sheriff Maggi. Also being
present: Warden Joe Pelzer; Bill McGowen, Director of Administration; Michelle Miller, Chief Clerk; Mike Armenini,
summer intern; Joe Smydo, Observer -Reporter, Jim Jefferson, WJPA and participants in the Young Women's
Mentoring Program.
Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at approximately 11:35 a.m. and asked if there were any
corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 7-P-99, dated July 21,1999. Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr.
Maggi, that Minute No. 7-P-99 be approved as written. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their
approval by stating "Aye".
WARDEN'S REPORT
Warden Pelzer presented the following information to the Board:
Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for Julv.1999:
Other Counties (Erie, Fayette and Greene) $ 27,280.00
Administrative Fee 2,786.04
Monthly Sub Total 30,066.04
Year to date GRAND TOTAL $155,749.55

Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Belcastro, accepting the Warden's Report as per above. Motion
carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".
. BILLS
Controller Belcastro presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the
month of July,1999 in the amount of $57,353.65.
Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving the bills for the month of July,1999. Motion carried
unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and made a part
hereof.)
There being no further business, Chairman Burns declared the meeting adjourned at approximately 11:40 a.m.
