HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - 12-P-99 - 12-22-1999 - PRISON BOARD_/,,Z� MINUTE BOOK PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Minute No. 12-P-99 Washington County Prison Board Washington, PA, December 22,1999 The monthly meeting of the Washington County Prison Board was held at the Washington County Correctional Facility, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners J. Bracken Burns, Sr. and Scott Fergus; Judge Gilmore; Deputy Controller Namie; District Attorney Pettit and Sheriff Maggi. Absent being: Commissioner Diana L. Irey. Also being present: Warden Joe Pelzer; Bill McGowen, Director of Administration; John Bevec, Commissioner Elect; Jim McCune, Solicitor; Linda Belcher, Secretary; JoAnn Metz, Commissioner Irey's Office; Joe Smydo, Observer -Reporter, Kathy Thomas, Valley Independent; Chris Haines, Herald Standard; and Janice Crompton, Post Gazette. Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at approximately 11:35 a.m. and asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 11-P-99, dated November 24,1999. It was noted that an Executive Session was discussed but not held at the last board meeting. Moved by Judge Gilmore, seconded by Mr. Maggi, that with said correction Minute No. 11-P-99 be approved. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". WARDEN'S REPORT Warden Pelzer presented the following information to the Board: Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for November,1999: Other Counties (Fayette and Greene) $ 13,560.00 U. S. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". BILLS Deputy Controller Namie presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the month of November,1999, in the amount of $51,706.60. Moved by Mr. Fergus, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving the bills for the month of November,1999. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and made a part hereof.) NEW BUSINESS Warden Pelzer requested the Board call an Executive Session at this time to discuss a personnel matter. Chairman Burns noted an Executive Session was held and there was no action recommended or taken at this point in time.
