Minute No. 2 -P-00
Washington County Prison Board
Washington, PA, February 16, 2000
The monthly meeting of the Washington County Prison Board was held at the Washington County Correctional
Facility, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners John P. Bevec, Diana
L. Irey and J. Bracken Burns, Sr.; Judge Gilmore; District Attorney Pettit; Controller Belcastro and Sheriff Maggi.
Also being present: Warden Joe Pelzer; Marlene Luketich, Director of Administration; Michelle Miller, Chief Clerk;
Linda Belcher, Secretary; Joe Smydo, Observer -Reporter, Kathy Thomas, Valley Independent; Chris Haines, Herald
Standard; Stu Brown, WPXI TV; and Janice Crompton, Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
Chairman Pettit called the meeting to order at approximately 11:35 a.m. and asked if there were any
corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 1-P-00, dated January 19, 2000. Moved by Mr. Maggi, seconded by
Mr. Bevec, that Minute No. 1-P-00 be approved. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval
by stating "Aye".
WARDEN'S REPORT
Warden Pelzer presented the following information to the Board:
Income from other units for the maintenance of orisoners for Januarv, 2000:
Other Counties (Fayette and Greene) $ 19,800.00
Administrative Fee 353.48
Monthly Sub Total 20,153.48
Year to date GRAND TOTAL $ 20,153.48

Moved by Mr. Belcastro, seconded by Mr. Bevec, accepting the Warden's Report as per above. Motion
carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".
BILLS
Controller Belcastro presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the
month of January, 2000, in the amount of $44,814.58.
Judge Gilmore questioned the invoice from the Tribune Review ($633.09) as to why advertising is not done in
the Observer -Reporter.
Controller Belcastro stated he would look into this matter and get back to Judge Gilmore.
Moved by Mr. Belcastro, seconded by Mr. Bevec, approving the bills for the month of January, 2000. Motion
carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and
made a part hereof.)
An Executive Session was called to discuss a personnel matter.
Chairman Pettit called the meeting back to order.
There being no further business, Chairman Pettit declared the meeting adjourned at approximately 12:15 p.m.
