Bevec and Diana L. Irey; District Attorney John Pettit; Controller Paul Belcastro; Judge Gilmore. Absent being: Judge Gladden, Commissioner Burns and Sheriff Maggi. Also being present: Warden Joe Pelzer; William Bryker, Captain; Marlene Luketich, Director of Administration; Michelle Miller, Chief Clerk; Susan Orrick, Executive Secretary to Commissioner Burns; Ellen Carlson, Secretary; Judy Chestnutt, Observer -Reporter; Kathy Thomas, Valley Independent; Chris Haines, Herald Standard; Jim Jefferson, WJPA; Jesse Pettit, Christina DeCaro and Heather Thomaselli, law interns in the District Attorney's Office. Chairman Pettit called the meeting to order at approximately 11:35 a.m. and asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 4-P-00, dated April 26, 2000. Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Bevec, that Minute No. 4-P-00 be approved. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". WARDEN'S REPORT Warden Pelzer presented the following information to the Board: Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for April. 2000: Other Counties (Fayette and Greene) $ 37,640.00 Administrative Fee 2,653.93 Monthly Sub Total 40,293.93 Year to date GRAND TOTAL $ 105,318.11 Proeram Fees and Room and Board Income for the Month of April. 2000: Billed Work Release/Home Detention $ 8,765.00 Weekenders $ 1,280.00 Turned over to Clerk of Courts (Minus) -0- Adjustments made to billings (Minus) -0- Monthly Sub -Total $ 10,045.00 Year to date GRAND TOTAL $ 38,391.68 Status of prisoners confined at the end of April, 2000: Full Time Work Release Weekend prisoners Awaiting sentencing and/or . trial TOTAL PRISONERS Collected $ 8,876.00 $ 1,280.00 $10,156.00 $38,551.68 MALES FEMALES TOTAL 88 0 88 60 0 60 21 3 24 93 25 118 262 28 290 .� MINUTE BOOK PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA MALES FEMALES TOTAL Examinations performed by the physician 99 21 120 New commitments 33 Repeat patients 87 Medical Transports performed by the Sheriff 1 Moved by Mr. Belcastro, seconded by Mr. Bevec, accepting the Warden's Report as per above. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". BILLS Controller Belcastro presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the month of April, 2000, in the amount of $56,182.62. Moved by Mr. Belcastro, seconded by Mr. Bevec, approving the bills for the month of April, 2000. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and made a part hereof.) OLD BUSINESS District Attorney Pettit stated that to his knowledge no one from the Prison Board or the Warden received any written concerns by Corrections Officer Kevin Davis. Mr. Davis was directed at the April meeting to put his concerns about the Correctional Facility in writing.
