HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - 7-P-00 - 7-19-2000 - PRISON BOARDMINUTE BOOK 14 PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Minute No. 7-P-00 Washington County Prison Board E Washington, PA, July 19, 2000 i The monthly meeting of the Washington County Prison Board was held in the 7t' Floor Conference Room, m Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Vice Chairman Burns and Commissioner Irey; E 0 Sheriff Larry Maggi; Deputy Controller Mike Namie; Deputy Warden John Temas; and Judge Gilmore. Absent being: a Chairman John Pettit; Judge Gladden; Warden Joe Pelzer. Also present: Marlene Luketich, Director of Administration; Michelle Miller, Chief Clerk; Richard DiSalle, County Solicitor; Gary Stofko, summer employee in the Budget and County Commissioners Office; Malea Moye, (Washington High School student shadowing Sheriff Maggi); • Judy Chestnutt, Observer -Reporter; Jim Jefferson, WJPA. Vice -Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at approximately 11:38 a.m. and asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 6-P-00, dated June 21, 2000. Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mrs. Irey, that Minute No. 6-P-00 be approved. Motion carried unanimously with the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". WARr12,N'S REPORT Deputy Warden Temas presented the following information to the Board: Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for June. 2000: Other Counties (Fayette and Greene) $ 13,440.00 U.S. Marshal 5,300.00 U.S. Marine Corps 50.00 Administrative Fee 1,758.57 Monthly Sub Total 20,548.57 Year to date GRAND TOTAL $163,891.85 Program Fees and Room and Board Income for the month of June, 2000: Billed Collected Work Release/Home Detention $ 14,674.81 $ 14,973.54 Weekenders $ 1,220.00 $ 1,220.00 Turned over to Clerk of Courts (Minus) -0- Adjustments made to billings (Minus) -0- Monthly Sub -Total $15,894.81 $ 16,193.54 Year to date GRAND TOTAL $ 67,369.90 $ 67,785.90 Status of prisoners confined at the end of June, 2000: MALES FEMALES TOTAL Full Time 85 5 90 Work Release 56 4 60 Weekend prisoners 18 2 20 Awaiting sentencing and/or trial 101 22 123 TOTAL PRISONERS 260 33 293 MINUTE BOOK PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA MALES FEMALES TOTAL Examinations performed by the physician 110 37 147 New commitments 37 110 147 Repeat patients Medical Transports performed by the Sheriff. 0 Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Maggi, accepting the Warden's Report as per above. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". BILLS Deputy Controller Namie presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the month of June, 2000, in the amount of $56,332.85. Moved by Mr. Namie, seconded by Mrs. Irey, approving the bills for the month of June, 2000. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and made a part hereof.) There being no further business, Vice -Chairman Burns made a motion to adjourn the meeting at approximately 11:44 a.m. Moved by Commissioner Irey and second by Mr. Maggi, to adjourn.
