The monthly meeting of the Washington County Prison Board was held in the Washington County Correctional
m Facility, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners John P. Bevec and J.

E Bracken Burns, Sr.; District Attorney John Pettit; Captain J. L. Altman, Sheriffs Office; and Deputy Controller Mike

Namie. Absent being: Commissioner Diana L. Irey and Judge Gilmore. Also being present: Warden Joe Pelzer;
Cathi Kresh, Chief Clerk; Solicitor Richard DiSalle; Linda Belcher, Secretary; Joann Metz, Secretary, Commissioner
Irey's Office; Jim Jefferson, WJPA; Kathy Thomas, Valley Independent and Judy Chestnutt, Observer -Reporter.
Chairman Pettit called the meeting to order at approximately 11:40 a.m. and asked if there were any
corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 9-P-00, dated September 27, 2000. Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by
Mr. Bevec, that Minute No. 9-P-00 be approved. Motion carried unanimously with the Board signifying their approval
by stating "Aye".
WARDEN'S REPORT
Warden Pelzer presented the following information to the Board:
Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for September, 2000:

Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Namie, accepting the Warden's Report as per above. Motion
carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".

Deputy Controller Namie presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the
month of September 2000 in the amount of $50,147.74.
Moved by Mr. Burns, seconded by Mr. Bevec, approving the bills for the month of September, 2000.
Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto
and made a part hereof.)
NEW BUSINESS
Commissioner Burns learned Allegheny County jail is at full capacity and suggested Warden Pelzer inform
Allegheny County that Washington County may be able to grant some relief in our facility. Warden Pelzer stated he
would contact Allegheny County and make arrangements, if they are interested in utilizing the facility to house their
inmates.
There being no further business, Chairman Pettit made a motion to adjourn the meeting at approximately 12:10
p.m.
