Minute No. 9-P-01
Washington County Prison Board
Washington, PA, September 19, 2001
The Washington County Prison Board met for its monthly meeting in the Washington County Correctional
Facility, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners John P. Bevec and
Diana L. Irey. District Attorney John Pettit and Deputy Controller Mike Namie. Absent being: Vice Chairman J.
Bracken Burns, Sr. and Judge David L. Gilmore. Also being present: Warden Joe Pelzer; Cathi Kresh,
Administrator/Chief Clerk; Solicitor Richard DiSalle; Linda Belcher, Administrative Assistant; Sue Orrick,
Commissioner Burns Office; Michelle Miller, Director of Human Resources; Chief Deputy John Rheel; Jim Jefferson,
WJPA and Judy Chestnutt, Observer -Reporter.
Chairman Pettit called the meeting to order at approximately 11:35 a.m. and entertained a motion to approve
Minute No. 8-P-01, each member having received a copy.
Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mrs. Irey, that Minute No. 8-P-01 be approved as written.
Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".
WARDEN'S REPORT
Warden Pelzer presented the following information to the Board:

Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Bevec, accepting the Warden's Report as per above. Motion
carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".
BILLS
Deputy Controller Namie presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the
month of August, 2001 in the amount of $83,088.65.
Moved by Mr. Bevec, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving the bills for the month of August, 2001. Motion
carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and
made a part hereof.)
OLD BUSINESS
None
NEW BUSINESS
Chairman Pettit called an Executive Session in order to discuss personnel issues and the possibility of
double -bunking at the Correctional Facility to accommodate over crowding.
Meeting reconvened.
There being no further business, Chairman Pettit declared the meeting adjourned at approximately
11:40 a.m.
