HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - 4-P-02 - 4-17-2002 - PRISON BOARD1 MINUTE BOOK PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Minute No. 4-P-02 Washington County Prison Board Washington, PA, April 17, 2002 The regular monthly meeting of the Washington County Prison Board was in the 7th Floor Conference Room Courthouse Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners John P. Bevec, Diana L. Irey and J. Bracken Burns, Sr.; Controller Michael Namie and Sheriff Larry Maggi. Absent being: District Attorney Pettit and Judge David Gilmore. Also being present: Warden Joe Pelzer; Cathi Kresh, Administrator/Chief Clerk; Richard DiSalle, Solicitor; Michelle Miller, Director of Human Resources; Linda Belcher, Administrative Assistant; Linda Metz, Observer -Reporter and Jim Jefferson, WJPA. Vice -Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at approximately 11:33 a.m. and asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. 3-P-02, dated March 20, 2002. Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute No. 3-P-02 as written. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". WARDEN'S REPORT Warden Pelzer presented the following information to the Board: Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for March, 2002: Reimbursement to County for Inmate Worker Pay 1,960.50 U S. Marshall $ 5,900.00 Administrative Fee 1,842.27 Monthly Sub Total 9,702.77 Year to date GRAND TOTAL $ 29,193.15 Prouram Fees and Room and Board Income for the Month of March, 2002: Work Release/Home Detention Weekenders Turned over to Clerk of Courts (Minus) Adjustments made to billings (Minus) Monthly Sub -Total Year to date GRAND TOTAL Status of prisoners confined at the end of March, 2002: Full Time Work Release Weekend prisoners Unsentenced prisoners Awaiting sentencing and/or trial TOTAL PRISONERS Examinations performed by the physician New commitments Repeat patients Billed Collected $17,579.51 $17,074.51 $ 3,965.00 $ 3,965.00 -0- -0- $21,544.51 $21,039.51 $ 54,071.02 $ 54,279.02 MALES FEMALES TOTAL 84 8 92 46 9 55 26 6 32 135 21 156 291 44 335 MALES FEMALES TOTAL 123 27 150 Medical Transports performed by the Sheriff 21 44 106 11 0 • • 1 Moved by Mr. Irey, seconded by Mr. Bevec, accepting the Warden's Report as per above. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Ave". MINUTE BOOK 1 PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA ;i BILLS M Controller Namie presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the E month of March. 2002. in the amount of S55.OR0.45. m Moved by Mr. Namie, seconded by Mr. Bevec, approving the bills for the month of March, 2002. Motion 0 21 carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and E O made a part hereof.) OLD BUSINESS d None 0 NEW BUSINESS None EXECUTIVE SESSION Ms. Miller, Director of Human Resources, requested an Executive Session to discuss a personnel issue regarding an employee of the Correctional Facility. Meeting reconvened. Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Maggi, to terminate, Bobbi Jean Gregg Dunn, an employee of the Correctional Facility for failure to disclose a previous criminal record as defined in the employment application. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".
