Irey; Judge Debbie O'Dell Seneca; District Attorney John Pettit; Sheriff Larry Maggi and Deputy Controller Randy Vankirk. Absent being: Commissioners John Bevec and J. Bracken Burns, Sr. Also being present: Cathi Kresh, Administrator/Chief Clerk; Richard DiSalle, Solicitor; Michelle Miller, Director of Human Resources; Linda Belcher, Administrative Assistant; Warden Joe Pelzer; Linda Metz, Observer -Reporter and Tony DePalma, WJPA. Chairman Pettit called the meeting to order at approximately 12:05 p.m. and entertained a motion to approve Minute No. 7-P-03. Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving Minute No. 7-P-03 as written. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". WARDEN'S REPORT Warden Pelzer presented the following information to the Board: Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for Julv, 2003: U.S. Marshall $ 6,000.00 Administrative Fee 2,900.96 Monthly Sub Total 8,000.96 Year to date GRAND TOTAL $ 58,650.01 Program Fees and Room and Board Income for the Month of Julv, 2003: Billed Collected Work Release/Home Detention $12,028.50 $12,011.50 Weekenders 2,518.75 2,518.75 Turned over to Clerk of Courts (Minus) -0- Adjustments made to billings (Minus) -0- Monthly Sub -Total $14,547.25 14,530.25 Year to date GRAND TOTAL $104,010.76 $104,224.76 Status of prisoners confined at the end of June, 2003: MALES FEMALES TOTAL Full Time 70 10 80 Work Release 44 8 52 Weekend prisoners 24 6 30 Unsentenced prisoners Awaiting sentencing and/or trial 144 28 172 TOTAL PRISONERS 282 52 334 MALES FEMALES TOTAL Examinations performed by the physician 104 48 152 New commitments 41 Repeat patients 111 Medical Transports performed by the Sheriff 7 Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Judge O'Dell, accepting the Warden's Report as per above. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". 222 MINUTE BOOK PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA BILLS 0 Deputy Controller Vankirk presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the month of July, 2003 in the amount of $84,005.06. Moved by Mr. Vankirk, seconded by Judge O'Dell Seneca, approving the bills for the month of July, 2003. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and made a part hereof.) OLD BUSINESS None NEW BUSINESS • Warden Pelzer informed the Board the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections recently inspected the facility and noted the county would be receiving an award for accomplishing zero deficiencies from the state at the next prison board meeting and the correctional facility also received re -certification to conduct training to correctional officers. The Board congratulated Warden Pelzer and his staff for a job well done.
