Bracken Burns, co Sr., Diana L. Irey; Judge Debbie O'Dell; Controller Michael Namie and Acting Sheriff John Rheel. Absent being: 0 cc District Attorney John Pettit. Also being present: Warden Joe Pelzer; Mary Helicke, Chief Clerk; Michelle Miller, Director of Human Resources; Linda Belcher, Administrative Assistant; Linda Metz, Observer -Reporter, Jim Jefferson, WJPA and Ken Bonnell, Weekly Recorder. Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 11:35 a.m. and entertained a motion to approve Minute No. 3-P-04. Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute No. 3-P-04 as written. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". PUBLIC COMMENTS None WARDEN'S REPORT Warden Pelzer presented the following information to the Board: Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for March, 2004: U S. Marshall $ 327.12 Transcor 100.00 Social Security 200.00 Administrative Fee 2,903.39 Monthly Sub Total 3,530.51 Year to date GRAND TOTAL $ 22,683.85 Program Fees and Room and Board Income for March, 2004 Billed Collected Work Release/Home Detention $11,968.83 $11,960.83 Weekenders $ 2,250.00 $ 2,250.00 Turned over to Clerk of Courts (Minus) -0- Adjustments made to billings (Minus) -0- Monthly Sub -Total $14,218.83 $14,210.83 Year to date GRAND TOTAL $40,933.82 $41,194.82 Status of prisoners confined at the end of March, 2004 MALES FEMALES TOTAL Full Time 72 12 84 Work Release 19 4 23 Weekend prisoners 9 1 10 Unsentenced prisoners Awaiting sentencing and/or • trial 128 23 151 TOTAL PRISONERS 228 40 268 MALES FEMALES TOTAL Examinations performed by the physician 124 70 194 New commitments 46 Repeat patients 148 238 MINUTE BOOK PRISON BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Medical Transports performed by the Sheriff 9 Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Maggi, accepting the Warden's Report as per above. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". BILLS Controller Namie presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the month of March, 2004 in the amount of $61,085.54. Moved by Mr. Namie, seconded by Mr. Burns, approving the bills for the month of March, 2004. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and made a part hereof.) OLD BUSINESS None NEW BUSINESS Judge O'Dell gave each board member a packet of information pertaining to the Mental Health Courts. She noted this would be an excellent program to look into and possibly consider this program for Washington County. date.
