Washington County Prison Board
Washington, PA, August 16, 2006
The Washington County Prison Board Meeting was held in the 7th Floor Conference Room, Courthouse Square
Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi
and Diana Irey; President Judge Debbie O'Dell Seneca; Deputy Controller Randy Vankirk; Sheriff Sam Romano and
District Attorney John Pettit. Absent being: Commissioner Bracken Burns, who was attending a CCAP Conference.
Also being present: Warden Joe Pelzer; Scott Fergus, Director of Administration; Mary Helicke, Chief Clerk; Mary
Lynn Drewitz and Lynn DeHaven, Solicitors; Linda Belcher, Administrative Assistant; Tim McCullough, Director of
Human Resources; Jim Dalessandro, Chief Deputy Sheriff; Barbara Miller, Observer -Reporter and Jim Jefferson,
WJPA.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 2:00 p.m. and entertained a motion to approve
Minute No. 8-P-06.
Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Pettit, approving Minute No. 8-P-06 as written. Motion carried
unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".

WARDEN'S REPORT
Warden Pelzer presented the following information to the Board:
Income from other units for the maintenance of Drisoners for Julv, 2006:
Administrative Fee $ 2,436.88
U. S. Marshal 2,450.00
Monthly Sub Total 4,886.88
Year to date GRAND TOTAL $ 53,758.41
Program Fees and Room and Board Income for the Month of July, 2006:

Moved by Mrs. Irey, seconded by Mr. Pettit, accepting the Warden's Report as per above. Motion
carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".
BILLS
Deputy Controller Vankirk presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the
month of July, 2006 in the amount of $67,425.46.
Moved by Mr. Vankirk, seconded by Mrs. Irey, approving the bills for the month of July 2006. Motion carried
unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and made a part •
hereof.)

NEW BUSINESS
At this time, Warden Pelzer requested an executive session.
Chairman Maggi reconvened the meeting.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting adjourned at approximately 2:35 p.m.
