HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - 3-P-07 - 3-14-2007 - PRISON BOARDRISON BOARD MINUTE B❑OK WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Minute No. 3-P-07 Washington County Prison Board Washington, PA, March 14, 2007 The Washington County Prison Board was in the Washington County Correctional Facility, West Cherry Street, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Bracken Burns and Diana Irey; President Judge Debbie O'Dell Seneca; Controller Michael Namie; Sheriff Sam Romano; and District Attorney John Pettit. Also being present: Warden Joe Pelzer; Scott Fergus, Director of Administration; Mary Helicke, Chief Clerk; Lynn DeHaven, Solicitor; Linda Belcher, Administrative Assistant; Tim McCullough, Director of Human Resources; Detective Chris Luppino, Washington Police Department; Barbara Miller, Observer - Reporter, and Jim Jefferson, WJPA. Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 11:30 a.m. and entertained a motion to approve Minute No. 2-P-07. Moved by Judge O'Dell Seneca, seconded by Mrs. Irey, approving Minute No. 2-P-07 as written. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". PUBLIC COMMENTS, None WARDEN'S REPORT Warden Pelzer presented the following information to the Board: Income from other units for the maintenance of prisoners for _February 2007 U S. Marshall $ 1,550.00 Social Security 400.00 Administrative Fee 2,528.04 Monthly Sub Total 4,478.04 Year to date GRAND TOTAL $ 9,211.30 Program Fees and Room and Board Income for Fs.l3ruary.' 2007 Billed Collected Work Release/Home Detention $14,563.00 $14,246.00 Weekenders $ 1,844.00 $ 1,844.00 Turned over to Clerk of Courts (Minus) -0- Adjustments made to billings (Minus) -0- Monthly Sub -Total $16,407.00 $16,090.00 Year to date GRAND TOTAL $ 31,710.00 $31,791.11 Status of prisoners confined at the end of. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". BILLS Controller Namie presented to the Board for their consideration and approval the bills for the month of March 2007 in the amount of $65,943.56. Moved by Mr. Namie, seconded by Mrs. Irey, approving the bills for the month of March 2007. Motion carried unanimously by the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and made a part hereof.) OLD BUSINESS President Judge O'Dell Seneca reported to the Board the status of the JNET Program and stated it should be in operation by late April or early May. It was also noted the new captains would be receiving training for this program. EXECUTIVE SESSION An executive session was called to discuss possible litigation and personnel matters. Meeting was reconvened.
