Salary Board Minute No. SB 8-15-19 Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., August 15, 2019
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following
members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana Irey Vaughan, Harlan G. Shober, Jr. and
Controller Mike Namie. Also being present: Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven; Chief Clerk Cynthia Griffin;
Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Executive Secretary Randi Marodi; Finance Director Josh
Hatfield; Human Resources Director Shelli Arnold; Court Administrator Patrick Grimm; Redevelopment
Authority representative Bob Griffin; Observer -Reporter Publishing Co. representative Barbara Miller; and
concerned citizen Jim Piper.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 10:41 a.m.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute No. SB 7-18-19 dated
July 18, 2019, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
COURTS
Mrs. Vaughan presented to the board on behalf of President Judge Emery; Judge McDonald, Judge's
Secretary, $47,549.50/year; create one full time salaried position effective 8/30/19.
Mrs. Vaughan presented to the board on behalf of President Judge Emery; Judge McDonald, Law
Clerk, $45,603.71/year; create one full time salaried position effective 8/30/19.
Mrs. Vaughan presented to the board on behalf of President Judge Emery, Judge McDonald, Court
Crier, $41,041.55/year; create one (1) full-time salaried position effective 8/30/19.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan; seconded by Mr. Shober, approving the foregoing personnel requests.

Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Information Technology, Manager Court Information Systems; $5 6,068.5 6 /year; abolish one full time
salaried position effective 8/15/19.
Information Technology, Court IT Support; $48,000.00/year; create one full time salaried position
effective 8/15/19.

Chairman Maggi noted for the record the following leaves of absences:

Heather Testa, Probation Officer, FMLA maternity, 07/23/19 to 10/15/19
Chairman Maggi stated for the record, items noted during 2019 were incorporated into the Salary
Book. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2019 salary schedule book
may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting recessed at approximately
10:43 a.m.
