Shober, Jr.; Controller Mike Namie; Sheriff Sam Romano; and District Attorney Gene Vittone. Absent from the meeting was Judge John DiSalle Also present: Warden Ed Strawn; Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven; Finance Director Joshua J. Hatfield; Human Resources Director Shelli Arnold; Deputy Controller Cathy Sams; Chief Clerk Cindy Griffin; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Observer -Reporter representative Barbara Miller; and with Commissioner Irey Vaughan, W&J College student, Sofia Carrasco. Mr. Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 11:33 a.m. Mr. Maggi asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute No. PB 7-17-19, dated July 17, 2019, each member having received a copy. It was moved by Mr. Namie and seconded by Mrs. Vaughan that Minute No. PB 7-17-19, be approved. The motion was carried unanimously with the Board signifying their approval by stating „Aye„ PUBLIC COMMENTS None. WARDEN'S REPORT Warden Strawn presented the following information to the Board: Income from Other Units for the Maintenance of Inmates for lulv 2019 Administrative Fee $11,675.67 Social Security $2,200.00 Tylenol/Medical Reimbursement $114.62 Monthly sub -total $13,990.29 Year-to-date grand total $93,339.82 Program Fees and Room and Board Income for July_ 2019 Billed Collected Work Release Inmates $19,120.00 $21,242.00 Weekend Inmates $700.00 $700.00 Monthly sub -total $19,820.00 $21,942.00 Year-to-date grand total $101,620.00 $94,951.75 Status of Inmates Confined at the End of Iulv 2019 Male Female Total Full-time Inmates 23 8 31 Work Release Inmates 32 2 34 Weekend: Inmates 3 0 3 Unsentenced Inmates Awaiting Sentencing and/or Trial 242 60 302 Total Inmates 300 70 370 Male Female Total Examinations Performed by the Physician 74 38 112 New Commitments 19 Repeat Patients 93 Medicall Transports Performed by the Sheriff 45 Contracted Housing Fee/Month $10.00 Year-to-date grand total $0.00 WARDEN'S REPORT Warden Strawn recommended to the Board, on behalf of the Washington County Correctional Facility, to approve the purchase of a NUCTECH Whole Body Inspection System with a total estimated cost of $113,000.00, which includes an $18,000.00 five-year warranty, transportation, insurance, install2tion, commissioning, and training and technical support. This porch se will be procure through the PA COSTARS 12 contract, and therefore does not require a separate bid. Warden Strawn recommended to the Board, on behalf of the Washir gton County Correctional 214 Facility, to authorize the advertising for bids for a commercial washer and dryer to be installed in the facility. The current washers and dryers are the originals from 1996. Replacement parts are no longer available. Warden Strawn recommended to the Board, to approve the hiring of the following individuals to the position of part-time correctional officers: Cole Vaughn Tyler Mroz Madison Foster-Alauzen Michael Guzma Breann Sirianni Jeremy Cooper Zachery Fike Rachel Milchak It was moved by Mrs. Vaughan and seconded by Mr. Vittone, approving the Warden's Report. The motion was carried unanimously with the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". BILLS Mr. Namie presented to the Board for their consideration and approval of the bills dated August 14, 2019, in the amount of $125,382.85. It was moved by Mr. Namie and seconded by Mr. Shober, approving the bills dated August 14, 2019. The motion was carried unanimously with the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and made a part hereof.) OLD BUSINESS None. NEW BUSINESS None.
