Salary Board Minute No. SB 12-5-19 Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., December 5, 2019
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following
members being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana Irey Vaughan, Harlan G. Shober, Jr. and
Controller Mike Namie. Also being present: Solicitor J. Lynn DeHaven; Chief Clerk Cynthia Griffin;
Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Executive Secretaries Marie Trossman and Randi Marodi; Human
Resources Director Shelli Arnold; Finance Director Josh Hatfield; Marquette Associates representatives Lee
Martin; and Observer -Reporter Publishing Co. representative Barbara Miller.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 10:14 a.m.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute No. SB 11-21-19 dated
November 21, 2019, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES
BHDS, MR Program Specialist I; $42,435.98/year reduced to $40,436.21/year; reduction in annual
salary for one full-time salaried position effective 12/05/19.
CHILDREN AND YOUTH SERVICES
Children and Youth, Casework Supervisor; $64,712.96/year reduced to $55,000.00/year; reduction in
annual salary for one full-time salaried position effective 12/05/19.
Children and Youth, Casework Supervisor; $56,650.00/year reduced to $55,000.00/year; reduction in
annual salary for one full-time salaried position effective 12/05/19.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan; seconded by Mr. Shober, approving the foregoing personnel request.

Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
LEAVES OF ABSENCES —November 21.2019 to December 4.2019
Chairman Maggi noted for the record the following leaves of absences:
Cheryl Amodei Mascara, Court Crier, Intermittent leave for self, 11/25/19 to 11/25/20.
Charles Carpinelli, Deputy Public Defender, FMLA medical, 11/15/19 to 12/06/19.

Chairman Maggi stated for the record, items noted during 2019 were incorporated into the Salary
Book. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2019 salary schedule book
may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting recessed at approximately
10:15 a.m.
