Salary Board Minute No. SB 12-19-19 Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., December 19, 2019
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse Square
Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following members
being present: Commissioners Larry Maggi, Diana Irey Vaughan, Harlan G. Shober, Jr. and Controller Mike
Namie. Also being present: Chief Clerk Cynthia Griffin; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg;
Executive Secretaries Joy Orndoff, Marie Trossman and Randi Marodi; Human Resources Assistant Director
Andrea Johnston; Finance Director Josh Hatfield; Observer -Reporter Publishing Co. representative Barbara
Miller; WJPA representative Bruce Sakalik and concerned citizen Sue Orrick.
Chairman Maggi called the meeting to order at approximately 10:27 a.m.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute No. SB 12-5-19 dated
December 5, 2019, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
CHILDREN AND YOUTH SERVICES
Children and Youth, Casework Supervisor; $65,066.64/year reduced to $55,000.00/year; reduction in
annual salary for one (1) full-time salaried position effective 12/19/19.
Moved by Mrs. Vaughan; seconded by Mr. Shober, approving the foregoing personnel request.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Shober — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
LEAVES OF ABSENCES —December 5.2019 to December 18.2019
Chairman Maggi noted for the record the following leaves of absences:
Sandra Marsteller, Office Operations Supervisor -Tax Claim, FMLA, 12/11/19 to 12/10/20.
Kristen McGavitt, Clerk Typist II, FMLA Intermittent leave, 12/06/19 to 12/06/20.
Sherri Taddeo, Graphic Arts Supervisor, FMLA, 12/17/19 to 03/10/20.
Chairman Maggi stated for the record, items noted during 2019 were incorporated into the Salary
Book. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2019 salary schedule book
may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Chairman Maggi declared the meeting adjourned at approximately
10:28 a.m.
