Minute No. PB 1-22-20 January 22, 2020
The meeting of the Washington County Prison Board was held in the 7th floor conference room,
Courthouse Square, Washington, Pennsylvania, with the following members being present:
Commissioners Diana Irey Vaughan, Nick Sherman and Larry Maggi; Judge John DiSalle and Controller
Mike Namie. Absent from the meeting: District Attorney Gene Vittone and Sheriff Sam Romano. Also
present: Warden Ed Strawn; Chief of Staff John Haynes; Finance Director Joshua Hatfield; Human
Resources Director Shelli Arnold; First Assistant District Attorney Dennis Paluso; Deputy Controller
Cathy Sams; Chief Clerk Cindy Griffin; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Solicitor Jana Grimm;
Graphic Artist Gracie Abel and Observer Reporter representative Barbara Miller.
Mrs. Vaughan called the meeting to order at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Mrs. Vaughan asked if there were any corrections, additions or omissions to Minute
No. PB 1-6-20, dated January 6, 2020, each member having received a copy.
It was moved by Mr. Namie and seconded by Mr. Maggi that Minute No. PB 1-6-20, be approved.
The motion was carried unanimously with the Board signifying their approval_ by stating "Aye".
PUBLIC COMMENTS
None.
WARDEN'S REPORT
Mrs. Vaughan made mention that the correctional facility's inmate numbers were down.

It was moved by Mr. Namie and seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving ,'i Warden's Report. The
motion was carried unanimously with the Board signifying their approval by stating "Aye".

It was moved by Mr. Namie and seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving the bills dated
january 22, 2020. The motion was carried unanimously with the Board signifying their approval by
stating "Aye". (See list of bills attached hereto and made a part hereof.)
OLD BUSINESS
None.
NEW BUSINESS
Mrs. Vaughan informed the Board that she met with Warden Strawn and requested that he notify
all members of the Prison Board, jointly, of any incident that occurs at the jail either by text or email.
Therefore, he will be sending out future notifications to all of the members.
There being no further business, Mrs. Vaughan declared the meeting adjourned at approximately
11:32 a.m.
