Salary Board Minute No. SB 3-18-20 Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., March 18, 2020
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following
members being present: Commissioners Diana Irey Vaughan, Larry Maggi, Nick Sherman and Controller
Mike Namie. Also being present: Solicitor Jana Grimm; Chief of Staff John Haynes; Chief Clerk Cynthia
Griffin; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg and Human Resources Director Shelh Arnold.
Chairman Vaughan called the meeting to order at approximately 1:26 p.m.
Moved by Mr. Sherman, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving Minute No. SB 2-20-20 dated
February 20, 2020, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
REGISTER OF WILLS
Mr. Sherman presented to the board on behalf of James Roman, Register of Wills, Deputy Register of
Wills; $51,138.33/year reduced to $40,000.00/year; reduction in annual salary for one full-time salaried
position effective retroactive to 3/16/20.
Moved by Mr. Sherman; seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving the foregoing personnel request.

Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
CORONER
Mr. Maggi presented to the board on behalf of Tim Warco, Coroner, $50.00/month increased to
$150.00/week; increase in on -call compensation effective 3/19/20.
Moved by Mr. Sherman; seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving the foregoing personnel request.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES
BHDS, Mental Health Program Specialist I, $33,731.00/year increased to $40,274.69/year; increase in
annual salary for one (1) full-time salaried position effective 3/19/20.
Moved by Mr. Sherman; seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving the foregoing personnel request.

Chairman Irey Vaughan stated for the record, items noted during 2020 were incorporated into the
Salary Book. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2020 salary schedule
book may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Chairman Irey Vaughan declared the meeting recessed at
approximately 1:28 p.m.
