HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMM - Meeting Minutes - SB 5-6-20 - 5-6-2020 - SALARYMINUTE 367 SALARY BOARD IMR LIMITED E1316649LD Salary Board Minute No. SB 5-6-20 WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLANIA Washington County Commissioners Washington, Pa., May 6, 2020 The Washington County Salary Board met via teleconference, for the purpose of reconvening with the following members being present: Commissioners Diana Irey Vaughan, Larry Maggi, Nick Sherman and Controller Mike Namie. Also being present: Solicitor Jana Grimm; Chief of Staff John Haynes; Finance Director Joshua Hatfield; Register of Wills James Roman; Human Resources Director Shelli Arnold; Chief Clerk Cindy Griffin; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; and Observer -Reporter representative Barbara Miller. Mrs. Vaughan called the meeting to order at approximately 2:10 p.m. Moved by Mr. Sherman, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute No. SB 4-1-20 dated April 1, 2020, as written. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENT None. TO BE NOTED FOR THE RECORD: Mr. Maggi requested the items on For the Board's Consideration sheet be separated in to two motions. FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION REGISTER OF WILLS Register of Wills, Bookkeeper II; pay grade 7 — 90% - $18.727/hour; abolish one full time union position effective 5/6/20. Register of Wills, Clerk Typist II; pay grade 4 — 90% - $18.113/hour; create one full time union position effective 5/6/20. Moved by Mr. Roman; seconded by Mr. Sherman, approving the foregoing personnel request. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Roman — Yes; Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes. Motion carried. CHILDREN & YOUTH SERVICES Children & Youth Services Administrator, $96,907.90/year reduced to $91,800.00/year, for one full time salaried position effective 5/6/20. Moved by Mr. Sherman; seconded by Mr. Namie, approving the foregoing personnel request. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — No, noting that he is not sure who will be filling this position, and he is voting no on the salary. Mr. Maggi acknowledges that it is a reduction but has concerns about salaries; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes, noting that this is a salary reduction; Mr. Namie — Yes. LEAVES OF ABSENCES — April 12.2020 to May 5.2020 Mrs. Vaughan noted for the record the following leaves of absences: Donna Lapcevic, Clerk Typist II, FMLA, 04/02/20 to 05/14/20 Mary Lynn Spilak, Director of Aging Services, FMLA, 03/31/20 to 04/20/20 Jon Tustin, Correctional Officer I, FMLA intermittent leave, 04/16/20 to 04/16/21 Mrs. Vaughan stated for the record, items noted during 2020 were incorporated into the Salary Book. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2020 salary schedule book may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
