Special Meeting Minute No. 1110 August 13, 2020
A special meeting of the Washington County Board of Commissioners was held in the Public Meeting
Room, Courthouse Square, Washington, Pa., with the following members being present: Commissioners
Diana Irey Vaughan, Larry Maggi and Nick Sherman. Also being present are Solicitor Jana Grimm; Chief of
Staff John Haynes; Finance Director Josh Hatfield; Human Services Director Kim Rogers; Chief Clerk
Cynthia B. Griffin; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Executive Secretaries Patrick Geho and Randi
Marodi; and Planning Department representative Gracie Abel.
Mrs. Vaughan called the meeting to order at approximately 10 a.m., and announced this meeting is
being broadcast live with video and audio via Facebook and the county website.
Mrs. Vaughan led the meeting with a prayer, and the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
None.
NEW BUSINESS
Chief Clerk presented to the Board for their consideration and approval, on behalf of Children and
Youth Services, of the County Assurance of Financial Commitment and Participation associated with the
Needs -Based Plan and Budget for the period of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022. The County match
requirement is approximately $5,600,000, which is based on a projected budget of $30,162,551.
Moved by Mr. Sherman; seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving the agreement for the Children and
Youth Services County Assurance of Financial Commitment and Participation associated with the Needs -
Based Plan and Budget.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
The next regularly scheduled Board of Commissioners' meeting will be held Thursday,
August 20, 2020.
SOLICITOR
None.
There being no further business, Chairman Vaughan declared the meeting adjourned at approximately
10:02 a.m.
