Salary Board Minute No. SB 1-7-21 January 7, 2021
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following
members being present: Commissioners Diana Irey Vaughan, Larry Maggi, Nick Sherman and Controller
Mike Namie. Also being present: Solicitor Jana Grimm; Chief of Staff John Haynes; Finance Director
Joshua Hatfield; Human Resources Director Shelli Arnold; Executive Secretary Marie Trossman; Chief Clerk
Cindy Griffin and Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg.
Mrs. Vaughan called the meeting to order at approximately 10:24 a.m.
Moved by Mr. Sherman, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving Minute No. SB 1-4-21 dated
January 4, 2021, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
COURTS
Mr. Namie presented to the board on behalf of President Judge John DiSalle, Court Administrator,
summer employee; $10.00/hour; extend one (1) Court Administrator position, assigned to the Law Library,
not to exceed budget amount, effective retroactive to 1 / 1 /21 through 6/ 1 /21.

Services/FITS, summer employee; $10.00/hour; extend one (1) position, not to exceed budget amount,
effective retroactive to 1 / 1 /21 through 6/ 1 /21.
Moved by Mr. Namie, seconded by Mr. Sherman approving the foregoing personnel request.

Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
CHILDREN AND YOUTH SERVICES
Children and Youth, Casework Supervisor, $58,349.49/year reduced to $55,000.00/year; reduction in
annual salary for two (2) full-time salaried position effective 1/7/21.
AGING SERVICES
Aging, Coordinator I; Pay Grade 8 - 90% - $20.015/hour; create one (1) temporary part-time position
effective 1 /7/21. The position will be abolished when the current employee on a leave of absence returns
from the leave.
Moved by Mr. Sherman, seconded by Mr. Maggi approving the foregoing personnel request.

Mrs. Vaughan stated for the record, items noted during 2021 were incorporated into the Salary Book.
It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2021 salary schedule book may be
corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Mrs. Vaughan declared the meeting recessed at approximately
10:26 a.m.
