Salary Board Minute No. SB 4-1-21 April 1, 2021
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following
members being present: Commissioners Diana Irey Vaughan, Larry Maggi, Nick Sherman and Controller
Mike Namie. Also being present: Solicitor Jana Grimm; Chief of Staff John Haynes; Human Resources
Director Shelh Arnold; Executive Secretaries Marie Trossman and Randi Marodi; Chief Clerk Cindy Griffin;
and Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg.
Mrs. Vaughan called the meeting to order at approximately 10:38 a.m.
Moved by Mr. Maggi, seconded by Mr. Namie, approving Minute No. SB 3-18-21 dated
March 18, 2021, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Nan ie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
SHERIFF
Sheriff, summer employee; $10.00/hour; create one position, not to exceed budget amount, effective
5/3/21 through 8/31/21.
Moved by Mr. Maggi, seconded by Mr. Sherman, approving the above summer position for the
Sheriffs Department.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
AGING
Aging, summer employee; $10.00/hour; create two positions, not to exceed budget amount, effective
4/1/21 through 6/30/21.
JAIL ADMINISTRATION
Jail Administration, RN Supervisor; $69,892.76/year; abolish one vacant full-time salaried position of
RN Supervisor effective 4/5/21.
Jail Administration, LPN; 90%-$22.74/hour; abolish three vacant full-time union positions effective
4/5/21.
Jail Administration, LPN; 90%-$22.74/hour; abolish two vacant part-time positions effective 4/5/21
Jail Administration, Medical Records Secretary; Pay Grade 6-90%-$18.923/hour; abolish one vacant
part-time position effective 4/5/21.
Moved by Mr. Maggi, seconded by Mr. Namie�approving the foregoing personnel request.

Motion carried unanimously.

Mrs. Vaughan stated for the record, items noted during 2021 were incorporated into the Salary Book.
It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2021 salary schedule book may be
corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Mrs. Vaughan declared the meeting recessed at approximately
10:39 a.m.
