Salary Board Minute No. SB 6-17-21 June 17, 2021
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following
members being present: Commissioners Diana Irey Vaughan, Larry Maggi, Nick Sherman and Controller
Mike Namie. Also being present: Solicitor Jana Grimm; Chief of Staff John Haynes; Human Resources
Director Shelli Arnold; Finance Director Josh Hatfield; Court Clerk of Courts Director Brenda Davis;
Register of Wills Director James Roman; Executive Secretaries Marie Trossman and Randi Marodi; Chief
Clerk Cindy Griffin; Secretary Paula Jansante; WJPA representative Bruce Sakalik and Observer Reporter
representative Mike Jones.
Mrs. Vaughan called the meeting to order at approximately 10:33 a.m.
Moved by Mr. Sherman, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving Minute No. SB 5-20-21 dated
May 20, 2021, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.

Mr. Namie presented to the board, Controller, Clerk II, Pay Grade 3 - 90% - $18.923; abolish one (1)
vacant full-time union position effective 6/17/21.
Moved by Mr. Namie, seconded by Mr. Sherman approving the foregoing personnel request.

title change for one (1) full-time salaried position effective 6/17/21.
CHILDREN AND YOUTH SERVICES
Children and Youth Services, Casework Supervisor, $58,349.51 /year reduced to $55,000.00/year;
reduction in annual salary for one (1) vacant full-time salaried position effective 6/17/21.
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES
BHDS, MR Caseworker II, $39,862.76/year reduced to $38,701.70/year; reduction in annual salary
for one (1) vacant full-time salaried position effective 6/17/21.
BHDS, MR Caseworker I, $36,858.77/year reduced to $35,785.20/year; reduction in annual salary for
one (1) vacant full-time salaried position effective 6/17/21.
AGING
Aging, Manager of Operations, $54,485.86/year; abolish one (1) full-time salaried position effective
7/1/21.
Aging, Volunteer Liaison, $35,000.00/year; create one (1) full-time salaried position effective 7/1/21.

Mrs. Vaughan stated for the record, items noted during 2021 were incorporated into the Salary Book.
It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2021 salary schedule book may be
corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Mrs. Vaughan declared the meeting recessed at approximately
10:35 a.m.
