Salary Board Minute No. SB 7-15-21 July 15, 2021
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following
members being present: Commissioners Diana Irey Vaughan, Larry Maggi, Nick Sherman and Controller
Mike Namie. Also being present: Solicitor Jana Grimm; Chief of Staff John Haynes; Human Resources
Director Shelli Arnold; Finance Director Josh Hatfield; Recorder of Deeds/Tax Revenue Director Debbie
Bardella; Sheriff's representative Robert Vaughan; Executive Secretary Marie Trossman; Chief Clerk Cindy
Griffin and Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg.
Mrs. Vaughan called the meeting to order at approximately 11:20 a.m.
Moved by Mr. Sherman, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving Minute No. SB 6-17-21 dated
June 17, 2021, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
CONTROLLER
Mr. Namie presented to the board, Controller, Payroll Administrator, $47,026.33/year reduced to
$43,099.73/year; reduction in annual salary for one (1) vacant full-time salaried position. effective 7/19/21.
Moved by Mr. Namie, seconded by Mr. Sherman approving the foregoing personnel request.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PLANNING
Planning, Development Manager, $57,030.43/year reduced to $52,500.00/year; reduction in annual
salary for one (1) vacant full-time salaried position effective 7/15/21.
Moved by Mr. Sherman, seconded by Mr. Maggi approving the foregoing personnel request.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Mr. Namie — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
LEAVES OF ABSENCES — June 17.2021 to July 14.2021
Mrs. Vaughan noted for the record the following leaves of absences:
Benjamin Cagnon, Maintenance Worker II, FMLA, 06/23/21 to 07/30/21
Angelia Geho, Caseworker II, FMLA, 07/08/21 to 09/30/21
Kayla Kraeer, Enforcement Officer II, FMLA, 07/08/21 to 09/30/21
Billie Mance, Clerk Typist II, FMLA, 06/11/21 to 08/06/21
Shalee Schnore, Correctional Officer I, Medical leave, 05/09/21 to 07/29/21
Julie Yusko, Clerk Typist II, FMLA, 06/01 /21 to 07/30/21
Mrs. Vaughan stated for the record, items noted during 2021 were incorporated into the Salary Book.
It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2021 salary schedule book may be
corrected administratively by Human Resources.
There being no further business, Mrs. Vaughan declared the meeting recessed at approximately
11:21 a.m.
