Salary Board Minute No. SB 5-19-22 Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., May 19, 2022
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in the Public Meeting Room of the Courthouse
Square Office Building, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following
members being present: Commissioners Diana Irey Vaughan, Larry Maggi, Nick Sherman, and Controller
April Sloane participated via telephone. Also being present: Chief of Staff Mike Namie; Executive
Secretaries Marie Trossman and Randi Marodi; Chief Clerk Cynthia Griffin; Administrative Assistant Joyce
Thornburg; Secretary Paula Jansante; Human Resources Director Shelli Arnold; Deputy Controller Heather
Sheatler; Sheriff Tony Andronas; Treasurer Tom Flickinger; Clerk of Courts Brenda Davis; Sheriff
representatives Interval and Borkowski; Information Technology representative Dylan Johnson; Marquette
Associates representative Lee Martin; WJPA representative Joe Jasek and concerned citizens Corey McConn,
Bonnie Rankin, Art Delprato and Becky Delprato.
Chairman Vaughan called the meeting to order at approximately 3:21 p.m.
Moved by Mr. Sherman, seconded by Ms. Sloane, approving Minute No. SB 4-7-22 dated
April 7, 2022, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Ms. Sloane — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
SHERIFF
Mr. Andronas presented to the board, Sheriff, Deputy Sheriff I, $15.29/hour; abolish three (3) vacant
part-time union positions effective 5/19/22.
Mr. Andronas presented to the board, Sheriff, Deputy Sheriff I, $15.29/hour; abolish one (1) part-
time union position, when vacated, effective no later than 5/31 /22.
Mr. Andronas presented to the board, Sheriff, Deputy Sheriff I, $23.12/hour; create two (2) full-time
union positions effective 5/19/22.
Moved by Mr. Andronas, seconded by Mr. Sherman approving the foregoing personnel request.

Mr. Andronas — Yes; Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Ms. Sloane — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
TREASURER
Mr. Flickinger presented to the board, Treasurer, Office Manager, $43,000/year increased to
$47,902.95/year; increase in annual salary for one (1) full-time salaried position effective 6/1/22.
Moved by Mr. Flickinger, seconded by Mr. Sherman approving the foregoing personnel request.

CLERK OF COURTS
Ms. Davis presented to the board, Clerk of Courts, summer employee, $10.00/hour; create one (1)
position, not to exceed the budget amount, effective 5/19/22 through 8/31/22.
Moved by Ms. Davis, seconded by Ms. Sloane approving the foregoing personnel request.

Chairman Irey Vaughan stated for the record, that all leaves of absence that occurred since
April 7, 2022, until the present, are to be noted for the record. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that
any procedural errors in the 2022 salary schedule book may be corrected administratively by Human
Resources.
There being no further business, Chairman Irey Vaughan declared the meeting recessed at
approximately 3:25 p.m.
