Salary Board Minute No. SB 2-16-23 Washington County Commissioners
Washington, Pa., February 16, 2023
The Washington County Salary Board met in session in Public Meeting Room G-16 of the Crossroads
Center, 95 West Beau Street, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following
members being present: Commissioners Diana Irey Vaughan, Larry Maggi, Nick Sherman, and Controller
April Sloane. Also present: Human Resources Assistant Director Andrea Johnston; Treasurer Tom
Flickinger; Executive Secretaries Marie Trossman and Randi Marodi; Secretary Paula Jansante; Chief Clerk
Cynthia Griffin; Administrative Assistant Joyce Thornburg; Deputy Sheriff Tyler Drusbasky; Marquette
Associates representative Lee Martin Ph.D. and Brad Hampton; Observer -Reporter representative Mike Jones;
WJPA representative Joe Jasek and concerned citizens Bonnie Rankin and Corey McConn.
Chairman Vaughan called the meeting to order at approximately 2:50 p.m.
Moved by Mr. Sherman, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving Minute No. SB 1-19-23 dated
January 19, 2023, as written.
Roll call vote taken:
Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Ms. Sloane - Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARDS CONSIDERATION
CHILDREN & YOUTH SERVICES
Children & Youth Services, Fiscal Operations Officer, $43,260.00/year increased to $58,500.00/year;
increase in annual salary for one (1) vacant full-time salaried position effective 2/_6/23.
CORRECTIONAL
Jail, Captain, $266.40 increased to $368.77; increase in salary supplement for each additional shift
worked as a Shift Commander effective 2/16/23. Additional partial shifts will nv_.eive a prorated share of
$368.77. Each year the County will compute an amount to compensate exempt Captains working additional
shifts.
Moved by Mr. Sherman; seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving the foregoing personnel request.

Mr. Sherman — Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Mrs. Vaughan — Yes; Ms. Sloane — No.
Motion carried.
LEAVES OF ABSENCES January 19, 2023 to February 15, 2023
Chairman Vaughan noted for the record the following leaves of absences:

Kourtney Boardley, Caseworker II, 01,/24/23 to 04/18/23
Rachelle Rischitelli, Caseworker II, 01 /30/23 to 04/24/23
Erik Sheldon, Office Operations Supervisor, 01 /27/23 to 04/21 /23
Tim Swango, Drafting Technician II, 01/25/23 to 01/25/24
Chairman Vaughan stated for the record, that all leaves of absence that �� uxred siiiY
January 19, 2023 until the present are to be noted for the record. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that
any procedural errors in the 2023 salary scheaule book may be corrected admim'---natively by Human
Resources.
