HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023-09-21_Salary Board Minutes_SB 09-21-23_APPROVED 513 MINUTE BOOK SALARY BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLANIA IMR LIMITED E1316649LD Salary Board Minute No. SB 9-21-23 Washington County Commissioners Washington, PA, September 21, 2023 The Washington County Salary Board reconvened in Public Meeting Room G-16 of the Crossroads Center at 95 West Beau Street,Washington,Pennsylvania,with the following members being present: Commissioners Diana Irey Vaughan,Larry Maggi, Nick Sherman, Controller April Sloane,Treasurer Tom Flickinger,Public Defender Rose Semple. Also present: Solicitor Jana Grimm; Chief of Staff Jim McCune; Human Resources Assistant Director Andrea Johnston;Executive Assistants Marie Trossman and Randi Marodi;Administrative Assistant Debbie Corson; Sheriff s Deputies Brandon Frankie and Ray Johnson; Financial Analyst Adam Petris;Joe Jasek from WJPA. Mrs.Vaughan called the meeting to order at approximately 2:53 p.m. Mrs. Vaughan entered a motion to approve Minute No. SB 8-16-23 dated August 16,2023. Motion Moved by Mr. Sherman, seconded by Mr. Maggi, approving Minute No. SB 8-16-23 as written. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Sherman—Yes;Mr. Maggi—Yes;Mrs.Vaughan—Yes;Ms. Sloane voted to abstain. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT None. FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION CONTROLLER Controller,Temporary Employee, $19.50/hour reduced to $15/hour;reduction in hourly salary for one (1) position effective 9/21/23 and extend position through 5/31/24. Moved by Ms. Sloane,seconded by Mr. Sherman. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Sherman—Yes;Mr. Maggi—Yes;Mrs. Vaughan—Yes; Ms. Sloane—Yes. Motion carried unanimously. PUBLIC DEFENDER Public Defender's Office,Ms. Semple presented to the board,Assistant Public Defender-Trial Attorney; title change for one (1) full-time union position effective 9/21/2023. Seconded by Mr. Sherman. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Sherman—Yes;Mr. Maggi—Yes;Mrs. Vaughan—Yes;Ms. Sloane—Yes. Motion carried unanimously. PARKS Mrs.Vaughan presented to the board, on behalf of the Parks Department, create one (1) temporary position effective 9/21/23 through 12/8/23,not to exceed 75 hours (equivalent to $1,125.00) at a rate of$15/hour. Entertained by Mrs. Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Sherman. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Sherman—Yes;Mr. Maggi—Yes;Mrs.Vaughan—Yes;Ms. Sloane—Yes. 514 MINUTE BOOK SALARY BOARD WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLANIA IMR LIMITED E1316649LD CHILDREN &YOUTH Mrs. Vaughan presented to the board, on behalf of the Children&Youth Services Department, Casework Supervisor, $69,987.11;reduction in annual salary for one (1) vacant full-time salaried position to $60,500.00, effective 9/21/23. Entertained by Mrs.Vaughan, seconded by Mr. Sherman. Roll call vote taken: Mr. Sherman—Yes;Mr. Maggi—Yes;Mrs. Vaughan—Yes;Ms. Sloane—Yes. LEAVES OF ABSENCES —August 16,2023 to September 21,2023 Chairman Vaughan noted for the record the following leaves of absences: John Sweeny,County Detective, 8/16/23 to 10/16/23 Tracy West, Security/Custodial Worker, 8/22/23 to 8/22/24 Steven Wright, Utility worker, 8/28/23 to 11/20/23 Jonathan Dawson, HS Clinician, 8/30/23 to 9/13/23 Rebecca Gray, Clerk Typist ll, 9/6/23 to 9/6/24 Cynthia Griffin, Chief Clerk, 9/15/23 to 9/15/24 Chairman Vaughan stated for the record, that all leaves of absence that occurred since August 16, 2023 until the present are to be noted for the record. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2023 salary schedule book may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
