MOTION BY SALARY BOARD MEMBER — To approve Minute No. SB 5-7-26 dated May 7, 2026. Chairman asks for PUBLIC COMMENTS. ELECTED OFFICIAL: (COMMISSIONER TO CALL PRESIDENT JUDGE COSTANZO OR MAKE MOTION ON BEHALF OF PRESIDENT JUDGE COSTANZO IN HER ABSENCE) BOARD'S CONSIDERATION President Judge Costanzo — Courts MAKE MOTION PER AGENDA MOTION — (made by Salary Board Member) To approve the remaining personnel requests found on the FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION chart. CHAIRMAN — NOTES FOR THE RECORD — All leaves of absence that occurred since May 7, 2026 until the present are to be noted for the record. CHAIRMAN NOTES FOR THE RECORD — It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2026 salary schedule book may be corrected administratively by Human Resources. Aging Cook Pay Grade 3 - Base - $24.028/hour Create seven (7) part-time positions effective 7/1/26. Salary Board Minute No. SB 5-7-2026 Washington County Commissioners Washington, Pa., May 7, 2026 The Washington County Salary Board reconvened in Public Meeting Room G-16 of the Crossroads Center at 95 West Beau Street, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of reconvening with the following members being present: Commissioners Nick Sherman, Larry Maggi, Electra Janis and Controller Heather Sheatler. Also present were: Solicitor Gary Sweat, Director of Human Resources Andrea Johnston, Director of Administration Daryl Price, Public Relations Director Nicole Ford, Prothonotary Laura Hough, Clerk of Courts Ray Phillips, Court Administrator Dan Buzard for President Judge Valarie Costanzo, Chief Clerk Cynthia Griffin; Administrative Assistant Debbie Corson; Executive Administrative Assistants Heather Wilhelm, Casey Grealish and Randi Marodi. Mr. Sherman called the meeting to order at approximately 11:23 a.m. Mr. Sherman entertained a motion to approve Minute No. SB 4-2-26 dated April 2, 2026 as written. Moved by Ms. Janis, seconded by Mr. Maggi. Roll call vote taken: Ms. Sheatler— Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Ms. Janis — Yes; Mr. Sherman — Yes. Motion carried unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENT None. FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION Mr. Sherman entertained a motion, on behalf of the Law Library, presented to the board by Court Administrator Daniel Buzard, the creation of one (1) summer employee position at $15.00/hour, not to exceed budgeted amount, effective 5/1/26 through 12/31/26. Court Administrator Daniel Buzard made a motion to approve the hiring of a summer intern for the Courts Law Library whose salary will be paid from the County's Records Improvement Fund, conditioned on the adoption of a Comprehensive Records Management Plan to assist in digitizing records, improving filing systems, and other records related tasks aimed at standardizing and equalizing the capabilities of all County offices. A job description for the summer interns will be created consistent with the Plan and their specific job duties will include scanning, indexing, back file conversions, data cleanup, and other records management activities consistent with the County Records Management Plan and the State Statue for the creation of a County Records Management Plan. Moved by Ms. Janis, seconded by Mr. Maggi. Roll call vote taken: Ms. Sheatler— Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Ms. Janis — Yes; Mr. Sherman — Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Sherman entertained a motion, on behalf of the Clerk of Courts, presented to the board by Clerk of Courts Ray Phillips, the creation of one (1) summer employee position at $15.00/hour, not to exceed budgeted amount, effective 5/1/26 through 12/31/26. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural errors in the 2026 salary schedule book may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.
