SALARY BOARD MEETING August 20, 2026
Immediately Following Public Meeting
Chairman calls meeting to order.
MOTION BY SALARY BOARD MEMBER —
To approve Minute No. SB 7-16-26 dated July 16, 2026.
Chairman asks for PUBLIC COMMENTS.
MOTION — (made by Salary Board Member) To approve the personnel request found on the FOR THE
BOARD'S CONSIDERATION chart.
CHAIRMAN — NOTES FOR THE RECORD — All leaves of absence that occurred since July 16, 2026
until the present are to be noted for the record.
CHAIRMAN NOTES FOR THE RECORD — It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any procedural
errors in the 2026 salary schedule book may be corrected administratively by Human Resources.

The Washington County Salary Board reconvened in Public Meeting Room G-16 of the
Crossroads Center at 95 West Beau Street, Washington, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of
reconvening with the following members being present: Commissioners Nick Sherman, Larry
Maggi, Electra Janis and Controller Heather Sheatler. Also present were: Solicitor Gary Sweat,
County Administrator Daryl Price, Public Relations Director Nicole Ford, Sheriff Anthony
Andronas; Chief Clerk Cynthia Griffin; Administrative Assistant Debbie Corson; Executive
Administrative Assistants Heather Wilhelm, Casey Grealish, Randi Marodi, Reporter Joe Jasek from
WJPA and Reporter Mike Jones from the Observer -Reporter.
Mr. Sherman called the meeting to order at approximately 10:38 a.m.
Mr. Sherman entertained a motion to approve Minute No. SB 6-18-26 dated June 18, 2026
as written.
Moved by Ms. Janis, seconded by Mr. Maggi.
Roll call vote taken:
Ms. Sheatler— Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Ms. Janis — Yes; Mr. Sherman — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION
Mr. Sherman entertained a motion, on behalf of the Sheriff's office, presented to the board
by Sheriff Andronas, Clerk Typist ll, Pay Grade 4-Base-$24.280/hour, Create one (1) temporary full-
time position effective 7/16/26. The position will be abolished effective 9/24/26.
Moved by Sheriff Andronas, seconded by Mr. Maggi.

Ms. Sheatler— Yes; Mr. Maggi — Yes; Ms. Janis — Yes; Mr. Sherman — Yes.
Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Sherman entertained a motion, on behalf of Aging, Coordinator, Pay Grade 8 - Base -
$25.532/hour, Abolish one (1) vacant part-time position effective 7/16/26.

Mr. Sherman entertained a motion, on behalf of Aging, Cook, Pay Grade 3 - Base -
$24.028/hour, Create two (2) part-time positions effective 7/16/26.

Mr. Sherman entertained a motion, on behalf of BHDS, MH Program Specialist II,
Reduction in annual salary from $51,823.67/year to $49,863.50/year for one (1) vacant full-time
salaried position effective 7/27/26.
Moved by Ms. Janis, seconded by Mr. Maggi.

Mr. Sherman stated for the record, that all leaves of absence that occurred since June 18,
2026 until the present are to be noted for the record. It is the consensus of the Salary Board that any
procedural errors in the 2026 salary schedule book may be corrected administratively by Human
Resources.
There being no further business, Mr. Sherman declared the meeting recessed at
approximately 10:40 a.m.
